Bali window blinds review

Spending $4,500. on new window blinds was a good buy. They look great, and save energy.

I thought about putting new blinds in the house for the three years I have lived here. At the end of 2021 I saw Blinds.com have a sale ending January 5th, 2022. I spent $4,500 to replace all the blinds in the house. I wanted to try was the cloth cellular blinds that have air pockets to provide better insulation. I had aluminum Venetian blinds in the bedrooms and plastic vertical blinds in most other places.

One problem was the mounting clip screws did not hit wood. I bought these anchors from Home Depot.

For the garage I just bought a new 2-inch aluminum Venetian blind. The master bedroom got a light-blocking vertical patio door shade. The bedrooms got combo shades that have a light-transmitting section and a dark section.

Here the light-transmitting section is folded up, and dark section is deployed. Here the blind is half-and half, part open, part dark and part light. You can pull the blind up all the way and it collapses at the top. There are no cords.

In the main bedroom I also ordered aluminum channels for the sides so the minimal amount of light comes through the shade. The den got a huge 140-inch long blind. The cellular construction makes the heat loss less. Here is the long view of the blind. It was a bit hairy to install, a two-man job. We had to leave one clip out towards the center to get it in.

The dining room had no blind. This blind does not have a dark section. The office got a special light-transmitting blind that you can drop from the top as well as raise. It gives privacy but lets you look at the trees. The blind lets a lot of light into the room.
